There is too much stuff in here. Non-members are not allowed down here as it is a… safety risk. Just don’t stay in here and breathe in for too long.
The area under the stage can be reached through the hole in the wall which is useful for putting in cable runs, or letting actors pop up from the floor in shows. There is even more sand down here thanks to a mainterm which covered the stage in it then just swept it down the trap door.
It is possible to climb through the building’s foundations to the men’ toilet, but you need to be pretty skinny to manage it as theatre managers have got stuck in the past.
Now it’s being used for prop store, but this hasn’t always been true. At some point it was just building materials like sand and slabs, and at some point the archive also lived there.
If anyone asks, no you cannot turn it into a performance space. It doesn’t have proper ventilation and definitely doesn’t have the proper fire safety routes for the public.
